sunday chill vol. 1

Let’s try something new and see how long I can keep this up for, haha.

hello, lovely person!

In an attempt to not burn myself out quickly, I was planning to not post on Sundays, but if I can do a fun simple post on Sundays, that would be nice too. That was a long winded version of saying, every Sunday, a volume of ~ sunday chill ~ will go up. This will allow you to get to know me a bit more and give me the chance to talk to you guys.

These volumes will feature:

  • life updates
  • currently reading
  • reading goals
  • other goals
  • currently working on
  • and whatever else I want to talk about

I hope you have a cup of something warm besides you while you read!

I will start with a bookish related thing before I give you a brief life update. I am currently in the middle of The Falconer by Elizabeth May and The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi. If you read my tbr, you would know that I have been reading these books for a bit.

Life has been pretty hectic over the last few months. I fell and got a concussion at the beginning of October and I have been trying to get back on my feet ever since. I am mostly healed now. I have been able to return to work and do school fully again for a few weeks now. I will have a post soon all about my concussion. I also applied to college/university in the last few months and it has been a ride to say the least. I have 2 more universities to submit my application to and some other things I need to submit, but I am so excited to be done this week. I know which school I want to go to but I am not sure if we can fund that dream of mine. I hope I at least get into one school. I cannot wait for winter break and be like this:

I have some ambitious reading plans for this week. Something exciting will be coming next week so keep an eye out for that announcement. So this week I want to finish books I am in the middle of and some anticipated reads of mine.

  • These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong (so so so excited for this!!)
  • An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
  • Romanov by Nadine Brandes (celebrating that Anastasia was added to Disney+)
  • and maybe some others, this is my starting point

As for social media updates: I made my Twitter profile private for now because I want to try to take a break from it since I easily get sucked into Twitter and I feel like this might help. I am trying to post as much on my Instagram as I am on here. Then for my YouTube channel, I do not plan on trying to post any videos during the rest of this year. I am not sure if I will pick it up again next year, but I might. Oh, an update for the blog, I am unsure if I will post any reviews during December. I am unsure if I want to do backlog reviews or reviews for recent reads. I have not decided yet.

sad ao no exorcist GIFUnlike people who have been able to prosper this year, I have not been able to write during 2020. I tried NaNoWriMo last month planning to only hit half of the 50K which is 25K but I barely wrote. With trying to catch up with school and some projects and changing my project at the last minute, I failed. My new plan was to attempt this 25K NaNoWriMo in December, but I am not motivated to do so. I have been focusing on my art and photography lately since we are doing a lot of projects in my art classes, so I have not been able to devote my effort to my story. I think about it all the time and what I want to do with it, but I have not been able to put it on paper/computer. I also have been having issues with finding a writing software that will work for me because I keep having issues with Scrivener’s installer.

My final topic for today is going to be about my art. I am considering opening a Redbubble shop with some of my illustrations. I am slowly researching it, but I might open one in the new year. I am also setting up a website for my portfolio. I have not decided if I will have my illustrations and photography on the same Instagram page, but I am too lazy to start another account (that would be 4 pages I am running, that’s crazy)! I will likely put all of my art together in one spot, but that is a project for when I am not focusing on school work.
