This is going to be a weird combination of topics since I have…delayed this second post. And by delayed, I mean put off writing it so strap in for a ride.
hello, you lovely person!
I hope you all have a manageable ending to 2020 and a stable welcoming into 2021! If I am being honest, I have been delaying late work and some other assignments but I am mostly relaxing during this weird stage between the two years. I don’t know about you, but I am not ready to return to reality tomorrow morning. We will all get through this no matter where we are in life.
I have a bunch of things I want to discuss today with you, but I am not sure what to include. So, I think I will ramble until I get tired of it, haha.
In December, I turned 18! A (somewhat) legal adult now! Haha, okay, I’m not that excited about growing because I have so many more responsibilities already to take care of, but I am going into this next level of life with an open mind. My birthday itself was alright. I’m not sure, I am starting to have that love/hate relationship with my birthday.
I was originally going to make a dedicated blog post to this, but I honestly have no energy for it, so I am giving you the SparkNotes version of it. At the beginning of October, I fell and got a concussion. It was severe and I was in the emergency room twice in the span of a few days. It was caused by some deficiencies that I have, so now I’m taking vitamins and supplements for that. Recovery was honestly the worst experience of my life. It was immensely difficult and I felt hopeless the whole time during it. It was not a fun time, but I did it, nevertheless. I was not able to really get back to a somewhat normal life until the end of November early December. Since I have been cleared, I think I have been having some relapses of it because I still get head pains on top of the migraines I was already getting. So everyday is a journey to see how I feel.
Okay, back to a lighter topic. I received 3 university decisions in December and they were all to my top schools. AND I GOT INTO THEM ALL!!!! 😭😭😭 I even got into my stretch school which is one of the top art schools in the States. Well, I suppose that is 4 decisions I got in one month. I only have 1 application waiting to hear back from and I might apply to one more safe school. Now, I am focusing on scholarship essays which are tough! I hate writing essays, but I am using one of these essays to count for one of my English class assignments, so I need to get it done ASAP.
We got the first snowfall of the season in December too! I love the snow and has been a struggle for me to find universities that I want to attend that are in locations that may or may not have seasons other than summer and fall. It was fun and my school even gave us a proper snow day despite being online! I shoveled and played in the snow like the little kid I am. *fyi, there are so many adorable animal snow gifs*
Oh, yeah, we are in 2021 now! It is a relief to not constantly be in the longest game of Jumanji known as 2020 anymore. I don’t know what this year is going to bring us, but I hope there is something good for everyone at least once during this year!
Alright, my head is starting to hurt a bit again and I want to try to get these assignments turned in before Wednesday. My semester ends at the end of this month and then I will have one semester left of high school…if I turn my stuff in on time. That’s for another time though filled with goals and whatever is going through my head after our first month in 2021.
I hope you are doing well and take time to do something for yourself like reading a book, playing video games, watching something you love, or even have a nice conversation.
